November 17, 2022
On the evening of 17th November we welcomed another author for a reading, signing and meet & greet. Clare Helen Welsh is a prolific children’s writer from South West England and had visited St Helens to speak with the children of Parish Church Primary School. After school, she made her way to The Book Stop. Here she met up again with Parish student, Ellie. They had a great time together, Ellie’s mum commented: “Ellie is a lover of books, we go to the library (St Helens World of Glass library) and the Book Stop often. An author we've come to know and love called Clare Helen Walsh was doing a reading there so we definitely had to go.
We know Clare through Ellie's school, when she did a reading of one on her books during the first wave of Covid. I got in touch with Clare and told her about how much Ellie loved her book and we've spoken since. So we were very grateful for the Book Stop to have her do a reading as we actually got to meet her in person and get Ellie's books signed.”
Clare does amazing work and has founded Books that Help, an initiative that aims to celebrate picture books and how they can be used therapeutically to navigate life’s up and downs.
