December 1, 2022 A representative from Sahir House visited us on the 1st of December. Sahir House is a Merseyside based charity that supports the needs of LGBTQ+ folk and promotes better sexual health for all. This visit marked World AIDS Awareness Day 2022, a day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic, sharing information on HIV and AIDS, showing support to those who live with HIV or AIDS and honouring those who have died from the disease. Sahir House had a pop-up stall in the shop, providing customers with informational booklets and chatting with them about ending the stigma around HIV and AIDS. They also provided free red awareness ribbons and condoms. Before leaving they added informational posters to our gender neutral bathrooms and left more free ribbons and condoms for customers to take in private.
